Back and Ready for Action! Thursday, March 19 |

Hmm...so I'm sort of back. I say sort of because I'm not sure how many outfit posts I'll be able to do given the fact that I got rid of more than half of my wardrobe. I've got maybe four or five skirts left and some corduroys and jeans and that's it, and I have pretty much five or six shirts in total. My outfits will definitely lack originality since I don't have much to work with, but whenever I do have some nice combinations, I'll be sure to post them here.

Here's a little something to catch you up to what I've been up to lately:

-I went natural (hair-wise). I haven't straightened my hair in almost two months and I'm loving the natural look so far. It's so very versatile!
-I quit the musical. It wasn't worth all the stress and time and it just wasn't doing it for me.
-I'm working on getting in better shape & generally being healthier. This includes what I put in and on my body.
-I'm also working on a more positive outlook on life.
-I'm contemplating dying my hair with Henna.

So that's pretty much it. Nothing extremely amazing has happened just yet, but I know something truly powerful will happen soon. (I've been in a MAJOR rut lately and I need to claw my way back out.) I just want to specifically thank Pretty Little Pictures for that comment. I honestly wasn't planning on returning so soon.

Without further ado, here is today's outfit:

dress - ebay; cardigan - h&m; flip-flops - old navy

Preposterous! Monday, January 12 |

I've been so lazy lately in terms of taking pictures and posting them up on here. So... I'm on a brief hiatus until the stress that is the first semester is OVERRR and the musical is done with and I can take a nice little breather. Basically, let me finish my midterms at least but most likely I won't be back till after V-day. [Valentine's] Because that's one of our performances.

But here's a little update for anyone still keeping up with this thing:

Winter seminar is this weekend- so excited for this!!
I am not enjoying musical rehearsals at all! :[ I have zero comrades so I spend most of it sitting alone, doing homework and I almost never have a ride and the late bus is a hassle. Basically I'm downright miserable at all rehearsals at the moment, hopefully when we actually get into dress rehearsals and stuff it will get better because then I can start hanging with the sound crew and such, but until then I'm bored out of my minddd.
I went on baking overload and stopped for a while but I made some madeleines not too long ago. They were okay, I'll probably try them once more to see if I can perfect the texture.
I'm so behind on homework and studying, I need to get back on track ASAP.
I got new glasses!

So that's about all that is happening in my world, leave me some thoughts and I'd love to know what's going on in your world!! [I still read other blogs and check up on this thing, I just haven't bothered to post lately.]

Ballerina Past Life? Saturday, December 6 |

Sometimes I swear I had to be a ballerina in a past life. I wish my parents had let me keep attending lessons when I was little. I used to love it. This skirt I wore Wednesday reminds me of something a ballerina might wear. Hence some of the poses. The rest I attribute to a lack of sleep and brain cell leakage. And over the Thanksgiving holiday, I got my eyebrows threaded. I'm still getting accustomed to the slight change.

Cardigan - H&M; Pink Turtleneck - Mom's; Ruffle Skirt - Target; White Tights - Macy*s; Ballet Flats - MJM; Headband - Icing by Claire's

Before I assault you with more pictures (outfit post from Thanksgiving Eve), I wanted to just say thank you to Anna, Mary, Saorise, Andrea, and Nadine for commenting. I love what you guys embody and it's a treat to see people that I aspire to leaving me such sweet comments. You're all amazing. And regarding the musical auditions, I'm in, and my part is "Servant". As they say...there are no small roles, only small actors. (Obviously they got all the leads). Really though, I'm quite excited for the wild ride that is musical theater.

Green Shirt - Goodwill; Metallic/Tinfoil Skirt - Target; Green Tights - Macy*s; Green Knee Socks - Macy*s; Boots - ?

Hacer Galletas con Mini |

Here is my overdue baking post from that week that I made Gingerbread cookies. It's so long ago I don't even know the date. So now without further ado, here's the first segment of Baking with Mini:

Step 1: Don a cute apron and some funky shoes and take awkward pictures in your kitchen. Then quickly remove funky shoes. (Sorry to disappoint, but I don't actually bake in those.)

Step 2: Assemble the brat pack (aka: your ingredients). That time I chose to bake out of a box, but the next time I made cookies they were from scratch. In the end, the decision is yours!

Step 3: Spice it up a little. Cinnamon is my go-to spice when I feel like my baking is missing a little extra something. You can get the fresh grateable kind or the powdered kind. I used both.

Step 4: Mix away!!!

Step 5: Grab your cookie cutters and make a man (or a woman) out of that cookie dough!

Step 6: Prepare them for baking. (P.S. don't use wax paper. THEY WILL BURN!!!)

Step 7: Get your baking groove on! (I prefer old school Frank Sinatra albums, but to each his own.)

Step 8: Take out your fantastic cookies and give them personalities with your icing! (Yes, I am aware that some of my cookies are a little avante garde. That's what happens when you get lazy with the last couple.)

And there you have it! A beautiful and unique batch of cookies a la Mini.

Blueberry blues! Tuesday, December 2 |

Uh...

Sorry about the awkward silence but things have been busy and blogging requires time. I have plenty of pictures to share and other exciting things. A real post should be coming up soon! Sorry about the wait!

Red Ribbons Thursday, November 20 |

I've been really inspired by the school-boy blazer trend going on recently and plaid skirts. I thought about combining them and the result is the top half of me belonging at a boy's prep school and the bottom half belonging at an all girl's Catholic school. Oh and yellow shoes. Mostly because those are just wonderful. And they compliment the red so well. I also had fun with ribbons.

I am beginning to think that I am a glutton for punishment. I'm going to audition for our school musical, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, which will now be referred to as AFTHOTWTTF (good graces! even the acronym is long!!) or AFTH. Apparently the common sense half of my brain has stopped working because I'm already drowning in work and responsibilities and now I'm adding more to the mix. But, I miss acting and singing and theatre in general, so I'm going to go for it. Auditions are on Monday. I'm going to cry.

Blazer - Dad's; White Turtleneck - Mom's; Plaid Skirt - Swap; Belt - Mom's; Yellow Mary Jane Pumps - Target; Over-the-knee Socks - Target; Tights - Target; Bow - Walmart* (I added a safety pin); Hair bow - Target

Now I'm just sitting here and waiting for my pretty, velvety, ebay coat to come. And later today I have piano lessons. I can't believe I'm going to attempt to play The Firebird for recital. I told you I'm a glutton for punishment.

Until tomorrow avocadlings!
